Reports, electronics and a 911-shaped goal

By day I'm a data analyst. I connect GA4, BigQuery, ad platforms and accounting systems, and turn what comes out into reports people actually use. By night (and most weekends) I tinker with electronics: anything that lights up, clicks or moves.

For years those were two separate worlds. Then one evening I had an old instrument cluster on the bench and a revenue report open on the laptop, and the obvious question was: why is the most beautiful display on my desk the one that shows nothing?

Why original gauges

Car instrument clusters are some of the best-engineered displays ever made. They're built to be read at a glance, at speed, in any light. A needle tells you not just the number but the direction and the distance to the limit, in a fraction of a second. No screen does that as well.

So I use the real thing. Original clusters, original needles, original warning lights. And I refuse to cut into them: everything plugs into the original connectors, so every cluster could go back into a car tomorrow. They are collectors' parts and they should stay that way.

Why I'm doing this

Honest answer: I want a 911. And then I'll want to upgrade it, because that's how this works. Dashboard Garage is my way of turning what I do best, reports and electronics, into something a little wild, and letting it pay for the dream.

That also means every unit gets the attention I'd give my own car. I source the parts, design the dial faces, build and program the electronics, connect your data and put it all together myself.

How I work

• Personally. You talk to me, not to a sales team.
• Honestly. If your KPI is better served by a plain dashboard, I'll tell you. I build those too.
• Carefully. One unit at a time, tested before it leaves the workshop.
